Chard men’s seconds X1 got our first win of the season with a convincing 4-0 victory against Taunton vale at Holyrood. Overall it was a convincing match and we started the first half off well controlling much of the possession until Joel scored after a well placed cross from Jasper 20 minutes in. We continued the first half off well with little issues to keep it 1-0 at half time.

The second half everything got even better, despite the rain beginning. Sam managed to place it past the keeper when 1 on 1 only 2 minutes in to the second half. Yet again, we cruised through the second half comfortably apart from a green card from Jasper and some bloody knees from Mike. 24 minutes into the second half, Jasper puts it around the keeper into Sam who finishes again to make it 3-0 to Chard. The scoring was rounded off when Benny scored a beautiful finish 9 minutes later to cap off a strong performance.

Everyone on the team played excellent, from the defence with Simon having a great game, to the overall dominance from the midfield and the aggressive press from the attack. Even Luke got a bit of a rest this week, although he did make some much needed saves.

MOTM went to Luc for being solid defensively and offensively when needed. Well done everyone, keep the momentum into next week.
