Chard Ladies 1s delivered a dominant performance at Holyrood, securing a convincing 5–0 victory over Tiverton 2s in very wet and challenging conditions, with heavy rain throughout the match.
Chard started strongly and took the lead within the first few minutes. Kerryn was quickest to react in the circle, calmly tapping the ball past the goalkeeper to open the scoring. The pressure continued, and Chard doubled their lead before halftime when Katie bobbled the ball in from her reverse stick, making it 2–0 at the break.
The second half saw Chard raise the tempo even further. Katie added her second goal after getting the end of her stick to a cross from Ruby, guiding the ball into the bottom left corner past the goalkeeper. She then completed her hat-trick soon after, tapping in another well-delivered cross from Sasha.
Chard’s fifth and final goal came from Kerryn, who capitalised on a rebound when the goalkeeper made a save, dragging the loose ball from between the keeper and the goal line into the net.
Despite the wet and slippery conditions, Chard controlled the game throughout, showing strong teamwork, sharp finishing, and solid defensive organisation to secure three points.
