Holyrood School, Chard – Final Score: Chard 5, Taunton Vale 0

Chard Ladies 1s delivered a confident 5–0 victory over Taunton Vale 6 at Holyrood School, showcasing dominant play, slick passing, and moments of real quality—alongside a little touchline drama.

First Half

From the first whistle, Chard settled quickly, moving the ball with ease and creating a flurry of early chances. Their pressure paid off with a beautifully worked opening goal: Katie delivered a well-placed cross to Amy, who cleverly took the ball around the keeper before setting up Kez to finish calmly.

Kez struck again soon after, this time sneaking the ball through the keeper’s legs to double Chard’s lead. Despite Chard’s clear dominance and sustained pressure, Taunton Vale’s defenders held firm to prevent further damage before the break, keeping the score at 2–0.

Second Half

Chard returned hungry for more goals, but frustration began to creep in as chances went begging. A few disagreements—both with the umpires and among themselves—momentarily disrupted their rhythm. Even so, their control of the match never really wavered.

Kez restored calm with her third of the game, poaching a goal on the post with perfect positioning. The fourth came from a chaotic goal-mouth scramble, with Katie quickest to react and fire the ball home. Charlotte rounded off the scoring, slotting in from close range to make it 5–0.

Throughout the match, Sash and Lauren were engines in the midfield, linking play with consistent, clever passing and keeping Chard firmly on the front foot.

Player of the Match: Jade – Outstanding composure and strength on the right, contributing tirelessly in both defence and attack.
Dick of the Day: EJ – Awarded for two dramatic tumbles and attempting to shake hands with the opposition before the final whistle!

A strong team performance overall, with plenty of goals, plenty of energy, and just enough chaos to keep it entertaining. Chard come away deserved winners.
