Chard Ladies 1st XI delivered a dominant performance at Holyrood School, securing an emphatic 6–0 victory over Sidmouth & Ottery 4th XI.

The home side got off to a confident start, with Layla Anderson opening the scoring after her effort rebounded in off the post. Chard doubled their lead when Thea Parsons powered through the defence on a strong individual run before calmly finishing. Katie Fear made it three with a thunderous strike to give Chard a comfortable 3–0 lead at the break.

The second half saw Chard continue to press forward. Fear grabbed her second of the match, reacting quickly to slot home from a short corner routine. A goalmouth scramble led to Charlotte Mooney nudging the ball over the line for Chard’s fifth, before Lauren Struszczak completed the scoring, tucking away a rebound to make it six.

At the other end, Chard’s defence was rock solid throughout. EJ Hines, Lois Butcher, Jade Dunning, and Ruby Parris worked tirelessly to deny the visitors any clear chances, ensuring goalkeeper Hattie Thorne had a quiet afternoon without a save to make.

Lauren Struszczak – Outstanding in central midfield, controlling play throughout and capping a dominant performance with a well-deserved goal.

A superb all-round team display sees Chard Ladies 1st XI continue their fine form, with six goals, a clean sheet, and plenty of confidence heading into their next fixture.
