Chard travelled to Taunton to play recently demoted side, with the loss of some key players this season, Chard arrived with some fresh faces and the return of some old timers.

Chard started strong after the break shocking a strong vale side, some strong defensive work from captain Nathan Johno Johnson leading the way. Chard took the lead in the first half with a deflection on the post from Tim Sainsbury. Goal keeper Cian Brown had a solid performance as well earning himself man of the match. Despite the strong performance at the back Chard let 2 goals in at the end of the first half.

Vale started the second half as they Finished the first the well drilled team slipped 2 more past Chard. But Chard fought back with Benny using his new bionic hip to get down lower than he has in years on the back post to get a deflection from a strong pass from Adam Veitch. Chard piled on the pressure after this goal with Barnaby Willis controlling the midfield. With the pressure on Veitch dribbled in to the D and had a shot on goal which was deflected resulting in vale scoring an own goal. With emotions running high and Chard on the fight back Nathan Johno Johnson made a clumsy tackle and got himself sent off, with a green card but Chard stayed strong. Unfortunately the fight back came too late ending the game 4-3 to the home side.
