Chard 2's Vs ECVH

Bit of a drizzly start today in chard but we came out strong against a very even team. We spent most of the game in their half, with excellent passing from the back, using our wings again to drive up the pitch. Great support from mids, Emma H and Julie saw the ball through to Nat, Alice and Thea who made constant attempts on the goal finally resulting a 1-0 scoreline as Nat slotted it past the keeper. We continued our offensive play, using Sophie and Rachel up the wing on the left but an unlucky fumble in our D saw the score 1-1 just before half time but Freddie Rooks (last minute stand in goalie) made some excellent saves keeping us in the game on her debut for the ladies.

Second half we dominated the play, with a shuffle of positions, the ball played some more on the right with Angel passing balls up the line to Eliza and Alice. Defense stayed strong and calm, Rachael L and Ruby holding firm and keeping the ball away. Our attacking play found an own goal scored but disallowed by the umpire then Nat scored again off an offensive short corner which was disallowed for being smidge too high ?‍♀️ we continued till the bitter end but were unable to get ahead. Another great team effort we should all be proud of. This squad is growing in confidence week in week out, well done everyone.
