The hosts started well and created lots of chances but were denied by a strong performance from Okehampton’s goalkeeper.
The game appeared to be a battle of the two defensive lines, with Chard’s back four - led by centre-backs Emma Cridland and EJ Hines - making crucial clearances.
In the second half, Chard broke the deadlock when co-captain Lyndsay Blackshaw beat several opponents and flicked the ball into the corner.
Chard made the points safe when Amy Goss found Blackshaw an,d after a deflection off the keeper, Kerryn Mullis turned the ball home.
Chard were elated with a second win and first clean sheet of the season.
